Leadership Development: Taking the Reins
Many of our managers began their journey on the pub floor or in the kitchen. Through our leadership development pathway, they gained the skills necessary to run successful pubs that serve as the heart of their communities. Our leadership development includes:
General Manager Pathway: Comprehensive training covering all aspects of pub management
B&P Management Development Qualification: Created in association with HIT Training for ambitious Assistant and Deputy Managers, this includes L3 Hospitality Supervisor or L4 Hospitality Manager Apprenticeship alongside other valuable qualifications
B&P Bite-Sized Leadership & Management Courses: Aimed at high-potential Deputy Managers covering Insights Discovery, Delegation, Difficult Conversations, Time Management and P&L Workshops
Team Leader Training: Developing skills in leading small teams and shift management
Deputy Manager Programme: Preparing you for wider operational responsibility

Specialist Pathways: Becoming an Expert
Not everyone aspires to general management. Many team members prefer to develop specialised expertise in areas such as kitchen management, cellar and beverage operations or financial aspects of pub business.
For our culinary talent, the Advanced Leadership Skills for Chefs programme offers an award-winning development path. This course goes beyond cooking techniques to focus on interpersonal skills, people management and personal development – recognising that great kitchens need leaders who can inspire teams, not just create exceptional dishes.
These specialist roles are crucial to maintaining the high standards Brunning & Price is known for, from perfectly kept real ales to exceptional food quality and efficient business operations.
Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
The hospitality industry constantly evolves, and so does our approach to training. From regular in-house workshops and masterclasses to industry events and competitions, from supplier visits to product training – learning opportunities are continually available at Brunning & Price.
This commitment to ongoing development, supported by personal development planning with your manager, keeps our teams engaged and our offerings fresh, ensuring that working with us means continuous growth and new challenges.
